This group is for parents who are Deaf or have deaf children (preferably 0-5 years, but over is fine). I have two children (1 & 3 years-old). I'd like to set up playdates and activities for children to practice/learn ASL. I am a CODA, and hope my children will be able to form a bond with my Deaf mother through ASL. There is nothing more tragic than not being able to communicate with one's own family member. As the film, “Through Your Child’s Eyes: American Sign Language,” points out, ..."Learnin …

This group is intended to bring families and children together that are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or have Cochlear Implants. It's a great place for parents to get support, create new friendships, exchange experiences and offer resource assistance to those just starting this journey. Inspired by my daughter's profound bilateral deaf diagnosis at age 1, I hope this group can bridge the gap between the hearing & deaf community. It all starts somewhere. Let's mingle and have some fun!

This is a group for anyone interested in learning about Interpret San Diego's American Sign Language (ASL) classes or just wishing to practice with others regardless of where you are learning. All skills levels are welcome. We started this group because we meet people all the time wishing they could learn ASL, but are frustrated by the difficulty of finding open college classes or affordable learning programs. We are happy to provide space for students to practice and explore ASL.
